Pandemic Girls Night In – How To Pamper Your Child

During the pandemic I have spent more time with my family and learnt that there is no greater joy for my soul than to do that. My daughter means the world to me and having the chance of bonding with her during such rough times in history, feels like the greatest blessing.

On the first day of 2021 I wanted to do a pampering day for the two of us, so I organised a spa experience and a proper girls night in, with activities just for us, girls.

To share this with her friends, my sister in law and one of our dearest friends planned the same thing for their daughters at home and we shared photos at the end.

This is how our “party” looked like.

ACTIVITIES

Manicure/ Pedicure

Like every chic girl, Arianna loves to paint her nails. She always checked out my manicure when I had time to have them done, and wanted to try the nail polishes every time I did them at home. I came across a Minnie Mouse Water Based Nail Polish Set with a variety of 18 colours, safe for my daughter to try, so I purchased it and invited Ari to join the party. These nail polishes are perfect as they wash off with water and if they dry well, just peal off, so they’re not toxic for young children.

We started with soaking her hands in a bowl with warm water and few drops of essential oil to relax her. She was wearing her dressing gown and had pyjamas underneath to feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.

She did her nails, my nails and chased the cat to “make her beautiful as well”. We tried so many colours, made patterns and took “salon” pictures. It was perfect!

We skipped the pedicure as none of us are fond on the process, but we wore the toe separators for fun!

Massage and relaxation

After a perfect manicure, when Ari got bored of messing with the polishes, I massaged her hands with cream and cuticles oil. She tried to massage mine as well, and we laughed so much!

We relaxed a bit with cucumbers on our faces, but I agree that this was quite hilarious and we ended up eating the cucumber and cuddle on the couch instead.

Tattoo Time

Last summer Ari was introduced to temporary tattoos and I thought this could be a great way to complete the day, so when I found these Disney tattoos I knew Arianna will love them. And she did!

There were 16 sheets with endless poses for princesses and other characters from our favourite shows and it was very easy to apply them.

Hair Styling

Arianna doesn’t particularly likes to have her hair done, but enjoys her detangling spray and to show off her newest bows and hair accessories.

As we had so much fun, Arianna did not hesitate to accept to do her hair as well and made sure that I enjoy for her doing mine. Let’s say that it wasn’t the most relaxing thing we did that day, but we sure laughed a lot

Menu

We prepared cupcakes and had marshmallows and a choice or fresh juices. The day had a huge significance for us though, so we decided it’s fit for cake and lemonade!

Overall, we are planning to repeat the experience at least few more times this year and as soon as it’s possible, to include our friends as well and maybe have a sleepover.
